Day by Day Itinerary

DAY 1: Start of the Adventure and Journey to Bretaña

• Pick up in Iquitos : The guide picks up travelers at their hotel after breakfast.
• Trip to Nauta (2 hours) : Land transfer with views of the jungle landscape and local communities.
• Lunch in Nauta : Stop to taste typical Amazonian food.
• River transport trip to Bretaña (12 hours) :
  • Navigation along the Marañón River and entry into the Amazon.
  • Observation of the daily life of riverside communities and natural landscapes.
• Dinner on board : Light dinner while enjoying the sunset.
• Accommodation in Bretaña : Accommodation in basic but welcoming accommodation.

DAY 2: Entrance to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

• Breakfast in Bretaña : Local coffee and fresh dishes.
• Transfer to Surveillance Post 15 Pacaya Basin : Explanation on the importance of conservation.
• Navigation to Sapote Lake (3 hours) :
  • Tour of the Pacaya River.
  • Possible sightings of pink dolphins, howler monkeys and exotic birds.
• Lunch in the jungle : Picnic with local ingredients.
• Camp setup : Tents in a secure area near the lake.
• Free time : Relaxation and preparation for fishing.

DAYS 3-6: Fishing and Exploration on Sapote Lake

• Daily activities :
  • Sunrise trips for sport fishing.
  • Exploration of flora and fauna (alligators, turtles, tropical fish).
  • Learning local sustainable fishing techniques.
  • Possibility of swimming in safe areas or resting at the camp.

DAYS 7-10: Fishing and Exploration on Lake Yarina

• Transfer to Lake Yarina : River trip to another biodiverse area of ​​the reserve.
• Activities on the lake :
  • Fishing for emblematic species such as paiche, tucunaré and piranha.
  • Bird watching (herons, hoatzins), mammals and reptiles.
  • Optional hikes to explore trails and learn about medicinal plants.

DAY 11: Return to Bretaña

• Breakfast and farewell to Lake Yarina .
• Sailing back to Bretaña .
• Dinner and last night in Bretaña : Time to share experiences.

DAY 12: Return to Nauta and End of the Expedition

• River transfer back to Nauta .
• End of the program , with options to continue traveling through the Amazon or return to Iquitos.
